He attended Aquinas College in Edacochin and St. John De Britto Anglo-Indian High School in Fort Kochi. In his first year of college, he joined Lokadharmi Theater and took part in their productions. After that, he made the decision to make acting his career and enrolled as a postgraduate student at Pune, India’s Film and Television Institute of India. For almost ten years, he has participated in Indian theatre as a performer.

Vinay Forrt was born to M. V. Mani and Sujatha in Fort Kochi, Kerala. His birth name is Vinay Kumar, but he has chosen to use Kumar Vinay out of respect for India. His siblings are named Suma and Syam. He attended Aquinas College in Edacochin and St. John De Britto Anglo-Indian High School in Fort Kochi. Before breaking into the film industry, he worked at a number of different businesses, including a diner, a coffee shop, a clinic, and a phone company. In his first year of college, he joined Lokadharmi Theater and took part in their productions. After that, he made the decision to make acting his career and enrolled as a postgraduate student at Pune, India’s Film and Television Institute of India. For almost ten years, he has participated in Indian theatre as a performer. Vinay received the National Scholarship for Best Senior Theatre Actor from the Indian Government. He also dances contemporary dance.

On December 6th, 2014, in Guruvayoor, he got married to his girlfriend and research student Soumya Ravi. Together, they have a son.

Dheeraj Nandakumar, a fellow FTII prospect, sought Vinay for guidance on enrolling in the acting programme and let him know about the upcoming audition for Shyamaprasad’s film (Ritu). Vinay’s life was permanently altered when Shyamaprasad hired him for a prominent role in his movie Ritu (2009). In Shyamaprasad’s Ritu (2009), Vinay Fort made his acting debut as a gay character in a little but noteworthy role.

He co-starred in The Blueberry Hunt, an English movie directed by Anup Kurian, in 2011 alongside Naseeruddin Shah. An amazing display in Navagatharkku Swagatham (2012). Sadly, the movie had a disappointing box office performance. Later, Vinay had supporting roles in additional movies. He rose to fame as Nanmayil Suran in the movie Shutter (2012). Both critics and viewers gave the movie high marks, and it was screened at film festivals all over the world. In the 2014 thriller 7th Day, Vinay plays a pivotal supporting role.

Vinay first gained widespread recognition in Alphonse Putharen’s Premam as Vimal Sir.
