YG Mahendran Wiki and Biography: Yecha Gunja Mahendran is a well-known Indian playwright, actor, singer, comedian, and dramatist from the Tamil Nadu region who was born on January 9, 1950. Other names for him are Y. G. Mahendran and Y. Gee. Mahendra.
He has appeared in a number of movies and plays. He is the son of Rajalakshmi Parthasarathy, the founder and dean of the Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan network of schools, and Y. G. Parthasarathy, who is regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Tamil playwriting. He is also the nephew of well-known Tamil director K. Balaji. YG Mahendran Education
Don Bosco Matriculation School in Egmore is where YG Mahendran finished his elementary education. Later, he attended AC Tech College of Engineering in Guindy to complete his college education.
YG Mahendran Early Life
Yecha Gunja Parthasarathy and Rajalakshmi were the parents of Y. G. Mahendran when he was born on January 9, 1950. The United Amateur Artists (UAA), one of the first theatre organisations in Madras city, was founded in 1952 by Y.G.P. He became one of the most well-known playwrights of his time as a result of the success of his theatre company.
The Padma Seshadri Group of Schools was founded by Mrs. Rajalakshmi, the mother of Mahendra. The school has evolved into one of the best in India, drawing students from all over the nation, despite its humble beginnings as a social service for the members of the Nungambakkam Recreation Club in a small thatched shed on the terrace of the Y.G.P. home in 1959.
Mahendra has always had a thing for the theatre because he grew up in a performing arts family. He frequently played the comic relief in school plays, and people praised his performances. After completing his education at Don Bosco Egmore, he pursued an MBA at the University of Madras in Guindy and the A.C. College of Technology. He was a chemical engineering major. Even during his college years, predictions about his potential as a movie star were made. He began performing with his father’s theatre company, the United Amateur Artists, when he was still a teenager.
That gave him the break he required. Tens of thousands of people watched some of his earliest plays. Mahendra’s was one of the most well-known brands in the area. He eventually had to choose between acting and pursuing a career in something else, and he chose acting.
The late actress Savithri’s grandson is wed to Y.G. Mahendran’s daughter.

Mahendra was chosen by seasoned director K. Balachander to star in his 1971 movie Navagraham. The film’s box office earnings were approximately what would be regarded as “average.” They discovered that Mahendra’s nasal accent was what made him so funny. He appeared in more movies than Cho Ramaswamy did in the 1960s and 1970s, especially as a clueless relative who constantly gets into trouble.

He has appeared in movies with Sivaji Ganesan, Jaishankar, Kamal Haasan, and others in addition to sharing a screen with his brother Rajinikanth.
