Ritika was watched by director Sudha Kongara Prasad. In the Sudha-directed 2013 movie “Saala Khadoos,” which included a bilingual English and Hindi version, she made her acting debut (2016). Since the producers were seeking for a boxer and Ritikia had MMA expertise, she was cast.

Singh was chosen by the creators because they wanted a real boxer to portray Madhi, a Marwari girl who grows up in the slums of Chennai.
