Subaskaran Allirajah Career
Allirajah Subaskaran and his mother formed “The Gnanam Foundation” in 2010 to help those in disadvantaged communities and those who were left without care following the Sri Lankan Civil War. The organization’s guiding premise is “teach a man to fish,” whereby they give people chances to strengthen their capacity for self-sufficiency. The nonprofit has been working along with several other organizations since 2012, including Muslim Aid, Children’s Hunger Relief, and British Asian Trust.
In Sri Lanka’s Vavuniya District, the Gnanam Foundation built over 150 homes in 2015. Lycatel was ranked number 36 in the Sunday Times survey of the top 250 mid-market private companies in October 2011. In appreciation of her services to the Asian community in the UK, Allirajah Subaskaran received the gold award for Best Overall Enterprise at the 2010 Asian Achievers Awards ceremony.
