He attended R. D. National College of Arts & Science after beginning his education at Mumbai’s St. Anthony’s High School. He developed an early interest in acting and dancing, and he would perform in school skits. His teachers encouraged him to pursue acting because they thought he had a natural talent for the profession. As a choreographer in his early twenties, Vikrant started his career with Shiamak Davar.

Vikrant Massey studied ballet with Shiamak Davar before starting his profession. He played the choreographer in the Disney Channel original musical comedy-drama “Dhoom Machaao Dhoom.” He then played Rajkumar Dharam in the television serial “Dharam Veer.”
Vikrant gained notoriety by playing “Shyam Madan Singh” in the acclaimed Balika Vadhu television series on Colors. He then began to appear on programmes like “Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo,” “Qubool Hai,” and “Ajab Gajab Ghar Jamai.”
In 2013, Vikrant made his film debut in the starring character of “Devdas Mukherjee” in the Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha movie “Lootera,” after spending the previous five years working in television. Since then, he has portrayed a broad range of eccentric roles, including the withdrawn Shutu in “A Death in the Gunj,” the tough Arshad in “Lipstick Under My Burkha,” and the cool Rana in “Dil Dhadakne Do.”
In 2017, he performed the part of “Shrey” on the web series Rise. After that, he appeared in other web series, such as “Mirzapur,” “Broken But Beautiful,” “Made in Heaven,” and “Criminal Justice.”
He has also appeared in “Un Hazaaron Ke Naam,” “Best Girlfriend,” “35MM,” and “Detour,” among other short films.
