Irrfan Khan Wiki and Biography: Sahabzade Irrfan Ali Khan, better known by his stage name Irrfan Khan, was an Indian actor who was born on January 7, 1967. He starred in movies made in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He is regarded by many as one of the all-time great actors in the Indian cinema industry. Khan had a more than 30-year career and received various honors, including six Filmfare Awards, the Asian Film Award, and the National Film Award. In 2011, he was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour. After his passing in 2021, an honorary Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award was handed to him.

Irrfan Khan Education
Irrfan received a scholarship to pursue his Master of Arts degree while he was a student at NSD, where he first met Tigmanshu Dhulia, whom he has remained friends with ever since. He spent three years at the National School of Drama, where he graduated with a diploma in acting. After leaving NSD, he launched a lucrative acting career in Mumbai.

Irrfan Khan, also known as Sahabzade Irrfan Ali Khan, was born on January 7, 1967, in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Irrfan and his best friend Satish Sharma played a lot of cricket games together because they were both enthusiastic players. Irrfan competed as a player in the CK Nayudu Tournament. He was a Pashto-speaking Nawab Muslim Pathan from a well-known Jaipur family. Father of Sahabzada Yaseen Ali Khan was a successful businessman from the Rajasthani village of Khajuriya in the Tonk district. The Tonk Hakim caste member Begum Khan, Irrfan’s mother, died in Jaipur on April 25, 2020, at the age of 95, four days before Irrfan.
Irrfan Khan Career
In the 1985 Doordarshan serial Shrikant, Irrfan Khan made his debut. Other TV programmes in which he appeared include Bharat Ek Khoj (1988), Chanakya (1991), Banegi Apni Baat (1993), AnooGoonj (1993), Sara Jahan Hamara (1994), Chandrakanta (1994), Star Bestsellers (1995), and Sparsh (1998). In a previous Doordarshan teleplay called Laal Ghaas Par Neele Ghode, he played Lenin. He portrayed a serial killer in Darr (1995) on Star Plus, a revolutionary Urdu poet and Marxist political activist in Ali Sardar Jafri’s Kahkashan, and a pair of twin brothers in Chandrakanta (1994).
On the Hero Honda Roadies season on MTV in 2009, Irrfan portrayed himself. After making an appearance as “Sunil” in the American HBO drama “In Treatment” in 2010, he had his final television appearance as “Radhabinod Pal” in the Japanese four-part historical drama miniseries “Tokyo Trial.” Irrfan established himself on television before making his film debut in Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay (1988). Unfortunately, that scene wasn’t included in the final cut of the film.
He never looked back after Salaam Bombay and continued to deliver outstanding performances in movies all around the world. Irrfan originally came to public recognition for his performances as Gustad’s father in the Oscar-nominated 1998 film Such a Long Journey and as a teenage journalist in the critically praised 1990 film Ek Doctor Ki Maut.
