Bombay is where Advani was born. His father is a retired executive in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries for a multinational conglomerate, and his mother is an expert in marketing. His father is from Sindh, while his mother is from Maharashtra.

Advani worked on Sudhir Mishra’s 1996 film Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin as an assistant director in addition to co-writing the script. Later, he worked for Dharma Productions, the late Yash Johar’s (father of Karan Johar) production company.

Together with Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani, Nikkhil Advani founded Emmay Entertainment, a film production company, after Patiala House was released in 2011. D-Day was a movie made by Emmay Entertainment and directed by Nikkhil in association with DAR Motion Pictures. It was initially released on July 19, 2013.
Hero, a film directed by Subhash Ghai and just released, was a legitimate remake of the 1983 original. It debuted on the 18th of February 2014. Hero was produced by Salman Khan Ventures and Emmay Entertainment. In this movie, actors Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty make their screen debuts. Tigmanshu Dhulia, Aditya Pancholi, Sharad Kelkar, and Vivaan Bathena are also included. The publication was made on September 11, 2015. and on September 18, 2015, Nikkhil Advani’s co-production with Disney UTV, Katti Batti, starring Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan, became the most recent production to be released.
The upcoming movie Airlift, from Emmay Entertainment and Crouching Tiger, is based on the true story of the evacuation of 170,000 Indians from Kuwait during the first Gulf War and stars Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur.
