For basic and secondary education, he attended Amrita Vidyalayam in Perumbavoor, Kerala, and for his undergraduate studies, he attended MES College Marampally in Aluva, Kerala. He then proceeded to S. A. E. College in Chennai to obtain a film diploma. After graduating from college, he started producing music videos and short movies.

Alphonse’s Puthren family currently resides in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His namesakes are Puthren Paul and Daisy Chacko, his parents. Alphonse Puthren wed Aleena Mary Antony in 2015.
Alphonse Puthren Career
He started work on the short film Neram, which stars Vijay Sethupathi, shortly after directing the short Cling Cling the next year, in 2008. Then, along with Bobby Simha, Nivin Pauly, and Rajeev Pillai, he directed the music video for his song “Flavours” and appeared in a few more short movies. His first position in advertising was as a fast-food company’s commercial director. His debut was a feature film titled Neram with Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim, and Bobby Simha. It came out in 2013.
After that, in 2015, he created the screenplay, edited, and even had a small appearance in the movie Premam, which starred Nivin Pauly. It has grown to be one of the most financially successful Malayalam movies and is expected to be a hit at the box office. His third directing project will be a Tamil movie, to which he has already committed. He contributed to the Oppam (directed by Priyadarshan) and Thattathin Marayathu trailers (directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan).
