Cirkus Movie Review: Ranveer Singh is one of the young, dynamic actors working today, and Rohit Shetty is a master at keeping audiences entertained with his comedic and action-packed films. Ranveer and Rohit Shetty previously collaborated on the smash movie “Simmba,” and they are now working again on the movie “Cirkus,” which opened in theatres today (December 23, 2022). In order to determine whether this duo was successful in amusing the audience with their comedy film or failed, like every other Hindi film released in the previous few months, let’s dive into the full review of this film.
Story
Two sets of identical twins are unintentionally divided at the time of delivery. There is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding when they unexpectedly find themselves in the same town, Ooty, years later because others mistake them for each other. The frequent confusion brought on by others mistaking these identical twins for one another puts them in a variety of predicaments. This ultimately results in more enjoyment.

Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn, Siddharth Jadhav, Johny Lever, Sanjay M Rohit Shetty is the film’s director, and Rohit Shetty Picturez and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, in collaboration with Reliance Entertainment, are the producers. Jomon T. John handles the cinematography. Devi Sri Prasad, Badshah, DJ Chetas, Lijo George, and Amar Mohile all contributed to the music.

Movie Verdict
If you’ve seen any Rohit Shetty comedies, you know that they tend to be more slapstick comedies that make humour out of awkward situations between the performers. The comedy in Cirkus follows the same formula, but since there are already a few Hindi films with similar moments, it doesn’t succeed in making the audience laugh. The plot of this film will undoubtedly make us think about Judwaa, which Salman Khan starred in and was released in 1997. The movie’s narration is as dated as its plot and doesn’t generate interest at any point in the picture.
The film features a number of talented performers who can captivate an audience simply via their body language and one-liners, but Rohit Shetty, who invariably resorts to formulaic plotlines and pointless comic moments, once again wasted these actors. Now that audiences may watch a variety of movies on OTT platforms, the situation has entirely altered, and Cirkus doesn’t provide anything novel in terms of the plot, the production, or the comedic parts. The story, narration, dull twists, pointless comedic bits, and everything else about the movie are all letdowns. The only exciting aspect of this film is how it connects to the Golmaal series to create a Rohit Shetty cinematic world.
In many of the movie’s moments, Ranveer Singh‘s acting performance seems incredibly over the top. Ranveer’s hairstyle appears weird on screen as well. Despite Ranveer’s best efforts, the movie had many scenes with subpar writing that made them look really silly. Jacqueline Fernandez failed to deliver as usual, kept the same expression throughout the majority of the sequences, and merely served as a glamorous addition to the film. Another disappointment in the film is Pooja Hegde, who failed to make an impression with her acting. A few actors that can make us chuckle are Sanjay Mishara, Varun Sharma, and Johny Lever. The other actors all played their roles as required by the movie’s plot effectively.
The visual quality of Cirkus is adequate. Although the songs by various music directors, including Devi Sri Prasad, Badshah, DJ Chetas, and Lijo George, are not particularly spectacular, they can lift the audience’s spirits for a short while in theatres. Amar Mohile’s music for the background is acceptable. While the film’s colour grading, which uses highly saturated hues in every shot, makes it look quite strange, Jomon T John’s cinematography is excellent. The movie’s art crew and costume designers deserve praise for their efforts in accurately capturing the 1960s setting. The movie has excellent production quality.
With his predictable comedic bits and the plot that has been lifted from multiple other movies, director Rohit Shetty has failed to amuse the audience this time. In order to continue entertaining the audience, he needs to take better care of his stories and storytelling technique.
Cirkus is, in general, a predictable comedy movie with little chuckles throughout the duration. You can see this movie in theatres if you enjoy Rohit Shetty-style comedies.
