Kathmandu Connection Season 2 Review: Many films and television shows are set against the backdrop of the Mumbai Mafia, Mumbai-area terrorism, and related crimes. Another such show, “Kathmandu Connection,” was produced against the backdrop of the 1993 Mumbai bombings. This series’ first season was aired on the Sony Liv OTT platform and garnered mixed reviews from viewers and critics. The second season was recently revealed by the producers, and it is now streaming on the Sony Liv platform (December 23, 2022). To determine whether season 2 is superior to season 1, let’s dive into a deep review of the latter.
Story
The first season of Kathmandu Connection’s narrative starts with the investigation into the explosions that took place in Bombay in 1993. New bits of information are discovered as the investigation progresses, including the puzzling murder of the officer in charge of the probe, the kidnapping of a hotelier, and the stalking of a journalist. The puzzle lies in the connection that each of these three unique instances has to Kathmandu, the nation of Nepal’s capital. All of the issues that were brought up in season one are addressed in season two.

Series Verdict
Kathmandu Coonnection season 1 had generated the intrigue with the initial few episodes but failed with the narrative and emotional connect with the audience in the latter episodes. Although season 1 concluded on a dismal note, it is unexpected that the creators have already planned season 2. This may be because of any agreements the creators may have with OTT platforms to stop the series entirely. Beginning with the first episode, Season 2 fails to pique the interest of the audience. Every episode that ends without any sort of surprise makes it even less exciting. There are a few situations from other episodes that have the potential to be exciting, but the narrative quickly kills the tension.
Amit Sial is this thriller series’ saviour when it comes to acting performances. With his act, he wanted to support the entire series. Aksha Pardasany look gorgeous in this season and played her role well as required for the character. Another actor who can captivate audiences with any role given to him is Anshumaan Pushkar. Anurag Arora, Gopal Datt, and all the other performers performed admirably as needed for this series’ events.
The Kathmandu Connection series appears to be fine technically. The background score composed by Sneha Khanwalkar is good and it adds up the tension required for many scenes in the series. Arun Kumar Pandey’s cinematography is one of the series’ strongest qualities since it creates a gloomy atmosphere and draws us in even when the events aren’t particularly exciting. This show’s production values are appropriate for the plot.
This season’s content from director Sachin Pathak did not wow the viewer, and it appears that he wanted to lengthen the episodes by dragging out the situations. It may have been improved if he had concentrated more on some intriguing twists and turns that might excite the audience.
Overall. The excitement and intensity required for a crime thriller are absent from Kathmandu Connection S2. On the Sony Liv OTT platform, you may watch slow, predictable criminal series if you choose.
