Story
After a long absence, Meesha (Sara Ali Khan), who is not particularly close to her father, returns to India and her Royal family. But she is shocked to find that her father, who had requested her to go back to India, has vanished. Meesha demands that her father’s disappearance be looked into. The rest of the narrative focuses on whether Meesha was able to locate her father and the roles played by Rukmani, Rana, and Kapil in this instance of the missing.

Verdict
Although the majority of Indian films made in this genre consistently kept the audience enthralled, mysteries and crime thrillers have always been the top genres in India. Gaslight has all the ingredients to keep viewers interested until the very end, but it also contains a few shortcomings that detract from the experience. The movie starts out quickly and without any unnecessary exposition.
Several of the typical moments in the first half of the film cast doubt on each character who is connected to Sara Ali Khan’s missing father in the story. The film makes an effort to keep the mystery fascinating for a while, but falters a little bit in the latter half. The movie’s climax is not really exciting.
Sara Ali Khan once again produced a strong performance, and although she appears to be fitting the part of Meesha, she still has to focus on her facial expressions. Once again, Vikrant Massey stole the show with his tidy performance. Despite her delayed appearance on screen, Chitrangada Singh successfully played her part. Rahu Dev, Akshya Oberoi, and all the other performers performed their roles as needed for the characters.
The Gaslight movie looks good technically. The Gaurav Chatterjee-composed background music is suitable for the tone of the particular movie genre. Although Ragul Dharuman’s cinematography is passable, the pictures appear considerably darker than is necessary for a thriller. The production values are adequate.
Although he is a specialist in managing thriller and horror films, director Pavan Kripalani was only partially successful in keeping the audience interested till the very end.
Overall, Gaslight is a passable mystery thriller with a few exciting scenes sprinkled throughout. This weekend, you can surely see this movie on Hotstar.
