When he was let out of service, it hurt Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram’s career a lot. The Kannada movie Jogi was the inspiration for it. Then, for Deepavali, we saw Polladhavan, which was a huge hit and was the first movie that Vetrimaran ever directed. Also, he had a small part in the movie Kuselan, which was directed by Rajinikanth, who would later become his father-in-law. He worked with Vetrimaran once more, and the movie they made together was well-liked. The 58th National Award for Best Actor went to Dhanush in 2011 for his role in the movie Aadukalam.
