Th makers of Uppena have turned down the offers for direct to digital release and released the movie in Theaters. However, Netflix has paid a fancy rate for the post theatrical digital release rights of Uppena. Uppena will stream on Netflix from 14th April, 2022. As per the agreement the film Uppena will be available for OTT platform only after 60 days of its theatrical release date. Helmed by Buchi Babu Sana, it has music by Devi Sri Prasad. The film was originally scheduled for theatrical release in April 2020 but it was postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The film revolves around the concept of honour killing and is already winning the hearts of the audience. The film is jointly bankrolled by Sukumar, Naveen Yerneni, and Y. Ravi Shankar, under their respective banners Sukumar Writings and Mythri Movie Makers.

What is the Movie About?

Aasi( Panja Vaishnav Tej) is a fisherman’s son who falls in love with Sangeetha(Kriti Shetty), the daughter of a rich landlord Rayanam(Vijay Sethupati). When both gets deep in love a serious problem between the two villages changes the story upside down. Seeing this, the couple takes a crazy step and this changes the course of their life in a big way. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
