Akshay Kumar Early Life

Akshay Kumar was born in Amritsar, Punjab, India, on September 9, 1967 (he will be 55 in 2021). He started learning the martial art of karate while he was a student at Don Bosco High School in Mirik, Darjeeling. Since he was a little child, Akshay has been interested in sports and martial arts. He was raised in Old Delhi before relocating to the Koliwada neighborhood of Mumbai. He eventually enrolled at Guru Nanak Khalsa College (King’s Circle) in Mumbai, but due to his academic failure, he was never able to complete his studies there.

He relocated to Bangkok and began learning martial arts there. He is an expert in both Taekwondo and Muay Thai, holding the title of Black Belt in each (Thai Boxing). In Bangkok, Akshay worked as a chef and a waiter. Akshay moved to Mumbai after instructing martial arts in Kolkata and worked as a peon for a travel business there. Due to his attractiveness and personality, one of his classmates advised Akshay consider modeling as a career. His initial positions were as a model in the high fashion sector.

After finding fame as a model, Akshay changed his name from Rajeev Om Bhatia to Akshay Kumar. The actor who had acted alongside Akshay’s favourite heroine in a movie went by the stage name of Kumar. Before making his acting debut in the 1991 movie Saugandh, he started his career in film by dancing in the background of several projects. In 1992, he had the lead role in the movie Deedar. Since then, he has been unable to go back.

In Punjab, Akshay was born into a Hindu household. Before quitting his position and accepting a job as a UNICEF accountant, Hari Om Bhatia Sr. served as an Army officer for the government. Akshay’s father was good friends with the late Dara Singh. His mother, Aruna Bhatia, died on September 8, 2021 in Mumbai. She was a housewife.

Akshay married Twinkle Khanna on January 17, 2001. Twinkle is the daughter of Bollywood actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. The family is completed by a daughter named Nitara and a son named Aarav. Akshay is fiercely protective of his kids’ privacy and does his best to keep them hidden from prying eyes.

Akshay Kumar Career

After working as a model for a while, Akshay made his Bollywood debut with the 1991 film Saugandh. He then appeared in the movies Dancer, Mr. Bond, James Bond, and Deedar before eventually finding fame with the 1992 release of Khiladi. Akshay’s life reportedly took a dramatic turn after he was late for a modelling assignment, according to sources. He was depressed after missing his flight, so he visited various studios with his portfolio in an effort to find work. When Pramod Chakraborty noticed his work at that time, he hired him for “Deedar” (1992).

Despite the fact that Akshay’s previous movies were box office and critical duds, action film offers poured in thanks to the actor’s prowess in dance and stunt work. He rose to the top of the acting world because to his breakthrough performance in the 1994 movie “Yeh Dellagi.” After starring in several popular Khiladi movies, including “Main Khiladi Tu Anari” (1994), “Sabse Bada Khiladi” (1995), and “Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi,” Akshay earned the nicknames “Bollywood Khiladi” and “Action Hero.” With the popular 2000 film Hera Pheri, in which he co-starred with Paresh Rawal and Sunil Shetty, Akshay made his acting debut in humorous roles. He continued to be regarded as a comedy hero in the Heri Pheri sequel, in which he again starred.
