Anupam Kher Education
In the Lakkar Bazar neighborhood of Shimla, he went to DAV Higher Secondary School. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from the Himachal Pradesh University’s Government College. When he enrolled at Panjab University to study drama in 1974, the first thing he learned was how to pour tea. He was admitted to Delhi’s National School of Drama after earning an honors degree in theatre from Punjab University. Anupam and the seasoned performer Satish Kaushik were classmates at the New School for Drama.
Anupam Kher Early Life
Anupam Kher was born on March 7, 1955, in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India (he will be 67 years old in 2022). Anupam participated in various theatre shows, which led to the Himachal Pradesh University recognizing him as the Best Actor. He attended a walk-in audition for a 200 Indian rupee scholarship at the Panjab University in Chandigarh’s Department of Indian Theatre during that period.
Anupam, a National School of Drama alumnus, is currently a lecturer at the Bhartendu Drama Center in Lucknow. He started his acting career on June 3, 1981, after relocating to Mumbai. Anupam served as the executive director of both the Central Board of Film Certification and the National School of Drama. He had to resign as FTII Chairman because of his commitments to a global television program with a U.S. base.
Pushkarnath Kher and Dulari Kher, Anupam’s parents, belong to Kashmir’s Pandit religious minority. While his mother remained at home to raise him, his father worked as a clerk for the Forest Service. Raju Kher, an actor and filmmaker, is his older brother. In 1979, Anupam wed Madhumalti Kapoor, an actress, in an arranged union.
However, his relationship with Madhumalati did not last, and he eventually got a divorce from her. While acting with the Chandigarh Theatre Group, Anupam met Kirron Kher, the woman he would marry; they were wed in 1985. Sikandar, Kirron’s child, is a product of her union with Mumbai businessman Gautam Berry. After splitting from Gautam in 1985, Kirron married Anupam Kher the following year. Sikandar Kher, an actor.
Anupam Kher Career
Anupam made his screen debut in the 1982 movie Aagman. Anupam’s major break came in 1984, when he was cast in the movie Saaransh, at the age of 28. He was 60 years old when he played a middle-aged Maharashtrian man who had recently retired following the passing of his son in the movie.
After Saaransh’s breakthrough, Anupam received offers for about 100 movies over the course of two weeks. Alongside Daggubati Venkatesh, he made his debut in the 1987 Telugu film Trimurtulu. He was a significant character in the 1990 Malayalam movie Indrajaalam. In addition to Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), he also has key roles in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1995), Veer Zaara (2004), and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012). He has starred in a number of movies, including Gandhi Park in Hollywood (2007), Lust & Caution (2007), and Tera Mera Ki Rishta (2013).
Additionally, through to his appearances in movies like Bend It Like Beckham (2002), Bride and Prejudice (2004), Speedy Singhs (2011), Silver Linings Playbook (2012), and others, Anupam rose to international fame. He played a terrorist in the 1986 movie Karma, and his performance won him plaudits.
