Asha was born to classical dancer Kalamandalam Sumathi and V. S. Krishnan Kutty Nair. She started her dance training at the tender age of three. She finished her schooling at Kalady’s Sree Sankara University. After being married to T V Sharath in 1995, Asha moved to Dubai. They gave birth to two daughters, Uthara and Keerthana. She made her screen debut in her first feature film on Friday.
