Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad, an Indian actor, producer, and former politician, is better known by his stage name, Megastar or Chiranjeevi. He played a range of roles over the course of four decades and more than 150 films, garnering various honours, including ten Filmfare Awards. The Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honor, was given to him in 2006 in appreciation for his contributions to Indian cinema.

Additionally, he received an honorary doctorate from Andhra University. He made his acting debut in the 1978 Telugu movie “Pranam Khareedu” as “Narasimha,” the title character. He rose to the position of highest-paid actor in India at the time after receiving Rs. 1.25 crore for his performance in the 1992 Telugu film “Gharana Mogudu.”

He also took part in the Hollywood motion picture The Return of the Thief of Baghdad, which was eventually cancelled for unspecified reasons. In 1998, he founded the “Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust” (CCT), which today is the state’s top recipient of blood and eye donations.
