The 2006 follow-up to the movie, Kilukkam Kilukilukkam, featured Jayasurya. Jayasurya made a brief appearance in Bus Conductor. His portrayal of aspirant student leader Satheesan Kanjikkuzhi in the movie Classmates is largely regarded as a career high point. He was then cast in a subpar role in Lal Jose’s Arabikkatha. This was the inevitable progression after playing villains in Hareendran Oru Nishkalankan and Kangaroo. He started a new phase of his career with his performance in the 2010 movie Cocktail, which received considerable praise.

He donned 20 distinct outfits for the 2011 fantasy film Sankaranum Mohananum by T. V. Chandran. The next year, he starred in the critically acclaimed film Beautiful.
