Jeethu Joseph Early Life

Jeethu was born in the Syro-Malabar Catholic neighbourhood of Mutholapuram to Leelamma, a housewife, and V. Joseph, a former Muvattupuzha taluk MLA. Although Jeethu’s father had consistently pushed him to pursue an engineering degree, Jeethu was bent on enrolling in the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).

Jeethu Joseph Career

Jeethu Joseph started out in the film business as an assistant director on Jayaraj’s Bheebhathsam. He eventually lost his chance to direct a movie starring Dileep, and he ended up back where he had started. Jeethu was constructing the straightforward plot for Detective during this time. When he was having problems finding financiers, his mother Leelamma Joseph eventually offered to co-produce his debut movie. A producer exhibited interest and took over production of the film a month after it began. The movie Detective debuted in 2007. The movie had a successful commercial run.

Mummy & Me, his subsequent film, was a critical and financial success. Despite the fact that he spent nearly three years making the film, Mummy and Me marked a turning point in his development as a filmmaker. My second film, “Mummy and Me,” was significantly more challenging than my first. Although Jeethu was offered parts in movies like “Detective,” he declined them. I wanted to develop a different kind of movie because… In 2008, he finished the one-line scripts for Mummy and Me and Memories, but ultimately chose to focus on the former. My Boss, his third film, did well in theatres. Memories, a suspense thriller that Jeethu released as his fourth movie in 2013, was a financial success.

The drama-thriller Drishyam, starring Mohanlal, was successful both critically and financially when it was released at the year’s conclusion. It was the first Malayalam movie to collect more than 50 crore rupees at the box office, and it held the record for highest-grossing Malayalam movie until 2016. The part originally portrayed by Mohanlal by Kamal Haasan in the Tamil remake of Drishyam by Jeethu. It was also translated by other filmmakers into Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The movie Life of Josutty, which starred Dileep, was the next one that Jeethu directed.
