Mili Movie Review: In the Hindi film industry, Janhvi Kapoor has been trying hard to forge her own identity as an actor rather than being seen as the iconic Sridevi’s daughter. Her efforts to select a variety of subjects may be seen clearly even at the start of her career. Currently, she is playing another performance-focused part in the recently released movie Mili. In order to determine whether Janhvi is able to captivate the audience with her performance, let’s dive into the full assessment of this film.
Story
Mili wants to work abroad, but because of her financial situation, she must work in a mall restaurant. She cares for and loves her father. She develops feelings for Sameer. Mili frequently runs into conflict with the irate manager at her shop, and one day she unintentionally becomes stuck inside the restaurant’s food storage freezer. The rest of the narrative explains how Mili was able to endure such low temperatures and who discovered Mili inside the freezer.

Movie Verdict
Officially, Mili is a remake of the immensely popular Malayalam movie Helen. The original version of Mili has not been altered, and the film’s creators took care to avoid changing anything that would damage the integrity of the story. The characters are introduced in detail, along with their occupations and personal lives, before cutting to sequences in which Mili finds herself in a sticky situation.
Only until Mili’s character gets confined inside a freezer does the movie start to get interesting. You could find the first few movie scenes to be boring. However, the moments that follow Mili becoming stuck and the latter portion of the film make it entertaining to watch.
When it comes to acting, Janhvi Kapoor receives most of the attention in the Mili movie. In some parts, she was able to show off her acting skills, but in others, she was unable to make the character credible.
It is encouraging to see her taking on jobs with greater screen time and creative freedom, but it would be even better if she could sharpen her acting abilities a bit more. As always, Manoj Pahwa does a fantastic job as Mili’s father. With his debut in this movie, Sunny Kaushal played a small part and gave a passable performance. All additional performers performed as needed for the plot.
The Mili movie looks good technically. Although a couple sequences appear to be somewhat routine, A.R. Rahman’s background score gives the situations greater intensity and weight. With A.R.Rahman’s score as the backdrop, many of the situations in the second half appear intriguing. The cinematography of Sunil Karthikeyan is excellent, particularly the parts that were filmed in a single, enclosed space. If a few drawn-out moments could have been cut, the editing would have been better. Excellent production values.
The movie’s original director Mathukutty Xavier did not make any significant alterations. If a couple of the opening movie’s sequences could have been adjusted and a few other sections eliminated, the movie might have been more enjoyable to watch. Mathukutty Through the well-crafted survival scenes in the second half, Xavier was able to keep the audience’s attention.
Mili is an overall sincere effort by the creators to engage with the survival sequences. For the background music by Rahman and a few exciting situations, you should see this movie in theatres.
