Mukesh Bhatt Early Life
Hindi film producer and director Nanabhai Bhatt (1915–1999) was Bhatt’s father. His mother was a Muslim and his father was a Brahmin; his family was from Gujarat, India. Brother of Nanabhai Bhatt (1909–1965), Balwant Bhatt was a well-known actor in Hindi movies. He currently lives with his wife, Nilima Bhatt. Sakshi, a girl, and Vishesh, a boy, are Bhatt’s children. He inspired the creation of Vishesh Films, a production firm. For 30 years, Mukesh and his brother Mahesh co-owned Vishesh movies. But in May 2022, Mukesh Bhatt took over Vishesh Films and declared openly that Mahesh Bhatt was no longer associated with the company because of disputes between the brothers.

Vinod Khanna was the star of Bhatt’s debut production as a producer, Jurm (1990), a failure. The love drama Aashiqui (1990), featuring novices Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, was the next project he collaborated on with Gulshan Kumar. The film was directed by his sibling, Mahesh Bhatt. Aashiqui was followed by a string of box office successes. Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin (1991) and Sadak were two movies released under the Vishesh Films banner (1991). All of these movies featured Pooja Bhatt alongside well-known actors like Aamir Khan and Sanjay Dutt.
With performers like Naseeruddin Shah in 1993’s Sir, Naajayaz (1995), Criminal (1995), and Fareb (1995), Bhatt continued to produce films (1997). Ghulam, the producer’s 1998 film, was a huge hit. Preity Zinta and Akshay Kumar starred in the producer’s 1999 film Sangharsh. His 2002 horror thriller Raaz and its 2009 sequel Raaz: The Mystery Continues were both well-received. In 2004’s Footpath, his nephew Emraan Hashmi made his film debut alongside Bipasha Basu. Only a few of his more recent productions include Zeher (2005), Kalyug (2005), Gangster (2006), Woh Lamhe (2006), Jannat (2008), Tum Mile (2009), and Crook (2010).
He and his brother Mahesh Bhatt collaborated on the 2015 film Hamari Adhuri Kahani, which starred Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan. The real-life relationship between Bhatt’s father, Nanabhai Bhatt, and his stepmother, Shirin Mohammad Ali, served as the inspiration for the movie.
