As a result, Krishna Vamsi’s Ninne Pelladutha garnered positive feedback from audiences of all ages. The picture did extremely well in theatres. Later, in the film Annamayya, he played the mediaeval era’s most famous singer/poet, Annamacharya. The film was one of Tollywood’s biggest hits, running for 100 days in 42 theatres.

He received the National Award in the Special Jury category for this performance.

While his first film, Sri Ramadasu, was a box office success and earned him the Nandi Award, his second film, Boss, I Love You, was a critical and commercial flop. Don, directed by Raghava Lawrence, was his prior picture in which he showcased his directorial abilities. Sreenu Vaitla’s subsequent film, King, was a commercial triumph.
