Sridevi Shoban Babu Review: Santosh Shoban, an actor, is consciously attempting to establish a reputation for himself in the Telugu cinema business. However, his films often fall short of pleasing theatergoers. Despite his setbacks, he continues to take on work and finish shootings quickly.

Sridevi Shoban Babu 2023

His most recent film, “Like, Share, and Subscribe,” received terrible reviews both in theatres and on OTT platforms. Santosh Shoban has returned with a new film, “Sridevi Shoban Babu,” which debuted in theatres today despite the film’s dismal reviews. Let’s examine this film in detail to see whether Santosh Shoban will succeed at least with this one.

Verdict

Telugu film producers typically write commercial films rather than attempting novel premises. The Sridevi Shoban Babu teaser already gave viewers the sense that the film would be a popular family comedy, and the actual film starts off in the same vein with a narration that introduces the main characters.

We experience the atmosphere of a village backdrop and the behaviors of villagers because the majority of the film was shot there. In the first half, there aren’t many funny conversations, but the narrative stagnates until the intermission. Intermission blocks raise the stakes with a straightforward revelation, but that only lasts for a short while. After that, the film reverts to its routine, with several sequences that have been seen in other Telugu films before, and the expectedly dramatic ending.

Santosh Shoban is undoubtedly a prospective performer when it comes to acting, and his ability to deliver lines is his strongest asset. However, he may want to reconsider his choice of plot and characters. With this film, Gouri G Kishan, who made an impression with “96,” makes her Telugu film debut. She played the part admirably. As always, Rohini made an impression with her performance. All other performers performed their parts as required for the roles, and Nagababu did a respectable job in his role.

The Sridevi Shoban Babu movie appears to be fine technically. Although Kamran’s music is not very strong, the songs are passable, and the background music was a fantastic fit for this film. Siddharth Ramaswamy’s cinematography is excellent, and he did a great job of capturing the spirit of a community. The production quality is high and the editing was clear.

The film’s director, Prasanth Kumar Dimmala, attempted to add humour and emotion to an old tale by adapting it. While watching the movie in theatres, the audience is unimpressed by his narration and production style because they appear dated.

Overall, Sridevi Shoban Babu is a passable film with an easy-to-follow plot. This weekend, you may catch this movie in theatres if you want to enjoy a straightforward romantic comedy.
