Khakee: The Bihar Chapter Review: Neeraj Pandey is well-known for realistic movies like A Wednesday, Special 26, and Baby, and he just made the transition to writing television shows with Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, whose teaser caught his eye and stoked anticipation. But given the anticipation, the series premiered today, November 25, 2022, so let’s see if it’s worthwhile to watch or not.
Story
In the Bihar Chapter story, which takes place in the years 2000 to 2006, a ruthless gangster named Chandan Mahto (Ravi Kishan) seizes control of the village of Shaikhpur and imposes his own rules. As a result, the locals begin to have issues with both goons and politicians. However, the narrative changes when sincere cop Amit Lodha (Karan Tacker) assumes responsibility as Shaikhpur’s police chief and assures the Will Amith Lodha succeed in the end? The rest of the story will depend on Chandan Mahto’s next action.

Verdict
Despite the fact that we have seen numerous movies and television shows using Bihar as the backdrop, watching them feels new and thrilling. Khakee: The series that keeps you interested from start to finish is The Bihar Chapter. The first three episodes of the series are noteworthy because they describe how Chandan Mahto takes over Shaikpura before delving into the life of Amith Lodha, a sincere police officer who always seeks to alter society.
Although the pace of the series dips in each episode due to overly stretched drama, once the merciless goon Chandan Mahto and Amit face-off, the series becomes interesting and each episode perfectly blends all the emotions that make us connect with the story. Points like how Power, Crime, changes the perspective of life, how every individual gets influenced by the atmosphere of crime, and what made them become ruthless goons are all showcased interestingly and make the series interesting.
The remainder of the actors, which also included Avinash Tiwary, Ashutosh Rana, Ravi Kishan, Nikita Dutta, Abhimanyu Singh, Shraddha Das, Jatin Sarna, and Anup Soni, did their best. Karan Tacker performed the best job as Amith Lodhaa.
With this series, Neeraj Pandey—whose outstanding works include “A Wednesday,” “Special 26,” and “Baby”—turned from director to writer. He attempted to delve into the minds of criminals and police officers to understand what drove them to commit crimes as well as how the abuse of power led politicians to behave like criminals. Bhav Dhulia handled the narration admirably.
The series looks good visually, the cinematography draws you into the picture and makes you feel like you’re there, the background score is good but could be better, and the rest of the team did a wonderful job.
Overall, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter is a respectable television program that can be readily binge-watched by all audiences, with the exception of families.
