The date of Hansal Mehta’s birth is Monday, April 29, 1968. His birthplace was Mumbai. His mother’s name is Kishori Mehta, and his father’s name is Deepak Subodh Mehta. In January 2013, his mother passed away. Hansal has a brother named Parad D. Mehta, and his sister is named Sheetal Mehta Vyas.
At the age of 21, Hansal married Sunita for the first time in 1989. Nevertheless, the couple’s 11-year marriage ended in divorce. Sunita passed away from cancer on July 25, 2015. He and his first wife are the parents of two sons, Jai and Pallava. Jai is a filmmaker in addition to assisting his father on movies like “City Lights” (2014), “Shahid” (2012), “Aligarh” (2015), and “Scam 1992.” Pallava is a remarkable young person with Down syndrome. In the year 2005, Hansal met prominent social worker Safeena Husain. Kimaya and Rihanna are the couple’s daughters. Both of the girls were adopted. On May 25, 2022, in San Francisco, California, at Taj Campton Place, Hansal married his longtime love Safeena Husain.
Hansal Mehta Career
In 1993, Hansal made his feature film debut with the popular cooking programme Khana Khazana on Zee TV. The show’s producers had given Hansal the assignment of locating a stunning female host. The programme was a resounding success, shooting to the top of the ratings and turning chef Sanjeev Kapoor into a well-known figure.
He also directed additional television programmes such as Highway (1995), Yaadein (1995), Lakshya (1998), and Neeti (2000). Based on a Highway occurrence, the Bollywood film Dus Kahaaniyan (2007). The 1984 Bollywood film Saaransh served as the inspiration for Hansal’s 1997 film Jayate, which was never released in theatres. The movie was shown as a part of the Indian Panorama at the Hyderabad International Film Festival (1999).
The renowned director endured a difficult upbringing. The failure of his 2000 movie “Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar!!,” which starred Manoj Bajpayee and Tabu, at the box office was the reason for his bankruptcy. His latter flops in the business include the movies Chhal (2002), Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai? (2002), and Woodstock Villa (2002). (2008). After Woodstock Villa received a bad response, Hansal took a three-year hiatus from the director’s chair. He resigned from his employment as a producer at the acclaimed director and producer Sanjay Gupta’s White Feather Films Ltd.
After his trip, Hansal won the National Film Award for best director for the biographical drama “Shahid” he had directed. Shahid Azmi, a human rights defender and attorney, rose to prominence for his representation of people falsely accused of terrorism. He was slain in 2010. The movie had its international premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival.
Standing ovations were given to him at the 17th Jio MAMI Mumbai Picture Festival and the 20th Busan Film Festival for his critically acclaimed and financially successful 2015 film Aligarh. Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, a web series by Mr. Mehta that debuted in 2020, was his first professionally fruitful endeavour as a director. It debuted on Sony’s OTT platform and soon rose to the top of the list of online series in India. It detailed the life of stockbroker Harshad Mehta, who was charged with planning India’s biggest financial fraud.
