Kantara Hindi Movie Review: Since it came out, the Kannada movie Kantara has been very popular, so the people who made it have decided to translate it into other languages, like Telugu and Hindi. Today, October 14, 2022, the Hindi version came out, and the Telugu version will come out on October 15, 2022. With that in mind, let’s look at the movie and see how it did.
Shiva and his mother live in a small tribe in Rishab Shetty’s story. Because of a painful event he went through as a child, he has stopped doing Daivaradhane and Bhoota Kola. He doesn’t mind living on the streets as long as he can hang out with his friends and make some money doing odd jobs for his landlord (Achyut Kumar). With Forest Officer Murali, the classic conflict between man and nature gets a new twist (Kishore). Do you think Shiva can stop Murali from cutting down the forest? Maybe Murali is just a trick to get bigger fish to bite.
Cast & Crew
Rishab Shetty, Kishore, Achuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, Pramod Shetty, Vinay Biddappa, Rishab Shetty as director, Aravind Kashyap as cinematographer, B Ajaneesh Loknath as a composer, Pratheek Shetty, and K. M. Prakash as editors, and Vijay Kiragandur as producer all work under the Hombale Film banner.
With the release of KGF, Kannada movies moved away from epics and toward more introspective stories like Kantara. The movie is about a fight between humans and nature, which is an interesting idea that director Rishab Shetty does a great job bringing to life.
The beginning of the movie sets up the emotional core of the story, and later scenes introducing Shiva (Rishab Shetty) and the Kambla race are so well shot that you feel like you’re a part of it. The story isn’t very original or hard to figure out, but the technical quality makes up for it.
The right amount of drama and mystery keeps you interested until the end, except for a few scenes that happen over and over again in the second half. The last 30 minutes of the movie will leave you speechless. The first half of the movie was full of interesting scenes and comedic situations. In the second half, the real story of culture, traditions, and a mystery came out.
Rishab Shetty Kishore did a great job as a strong forest officer, and the rest of the cast did well in their roles as well. But Shiva is what people remember most about the movie. His change and natural acting made the character seem real.
Rishab Shetty shows how good an actor he is and accomplishes his goal of telling a story with a solid base. His skillful acting and direction pull us into the story.
Kantara is a great director of photography from a technical point of view. Aravind Kashyap takes us to Kantara with just the right setting, lighting, and framing. B Even though Ajaneesh Loknath’s songs aren’t very memorable, his work on the background score (BGM) is excellent, and the rest of the technical parts of the movie are also well done.
In conclusion, Kantara is a Masterpiece and a must-see movie at the theatre.
