From a young age, he was an enthusiastic cricket player, moviegoer, and student. He attended Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology and Sheth Chunilal Damodardas Barfivala High School in Mumbai, where he has been performing on stage since he was a young child. He had zero interest in acting prior to starting college. During his second year of college, he decided he couldn’t handle an 8-hour job sitting in front of a computer and went on an industrial visit to a company. He soon started accompanying his father to the filming locations.

When he was a baby, his father worked as an actor and stuntman. His younger sibling Sunny Kaushal works as an assistant director. His ancestry originates in the Punjab region of India. On December 9, 2021, there were wedding celebrations at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif was the bride.

On the Gangs of Wasseypur set, he was Anurag Kashyap’s assistant. He has appeared in numerous plays in addition to working with Naseeruddin Shah and Manav Kaul. He made his acting debut in the 2012 movie Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, playing the young Omi, a supporting character. He played the title role in short filmmaker Vasan Bala’s 2013 movie, Geek.
